Heb Neteru - Celebration of the Neteru and Creation

Heb Neteru festival-celebration marks our (i.e. TaNefer Ankh Community) entering into the 90-day season of the 'Neteru'. The is season, Neteru, is highlighted by our focus on the Creator, Creation and the Neteru – those that sustain Creation (i.e. Higher Padget / Elements Ntru), and those that guide us in the 'way of life' – i.e. the Lower Padget / Principal Ntru). Our objectives during this period is to align ourselves in accord with the Ntru and Creation. By doing so we come into harmony and balance with the life-forces thus assuring endurance and perpetuation of our lives.

Affirming the 'Way of Life'
Heb Neteru affirms the 'Way of Life' – the system ('Way') of improving and sustaining 'optimal-life' for everyone and every thing. The 'Way of Life' is the solution our Aku (Ancestors) developed to ensure our survival and development; and that our existence would be in harmony with Creation. Advancing African Cultural Integrity
Heb Neteru restores and assures our African Cultural Integrity. As a people we have lived and practiced the 'Way of Life' as a culture for millions of years; we have resolved challenges, contradictions and conflicts using the 'Way of Life' system, that by design has allowed us the very best 'way' of living in harmony with each other and will all of Creation. Of course, we as a people have been pushed off the 'Way of Life' path and onto the 'Way of Barbarism' (destructive) path by White people – Europeans, Arabs and Asians; it is our responsibility and endeavor to restore ourselves on to the 'Way of Life' path and to restore our cultural-identity.

Reestablishing African Sacred Time
Heb Neteru puts us in accord and harmony with the Neteru and Creation by aligning ourselves with the life-cycle(s) of Creation and living accordingly. By taking our guidance from the Neteru and following their dictates we come into harmony with the 'Way of Life' of Creation that results in optimal-life for ourselves. By living into 'sacred-time' we live in our rightful place within Creation rather than in discord with Creation as we see throughout the way of White people – the 'Way of Barbarism'.

Establishing and Maintaining Connection to the Neteru (Life Forces) and the Aku (Ancestors)
Heb Neteru restores and maintains our connection to the Neteru and Creation. The 'Way of Life' was established by following the guidance of the Neteru; it is they that ensured our survival and development – 'optimal life'. When we are in accord and in harmony with them we receive and witness the very best that life has to offer; however, when we are not in harmony, but in discord, with them we experience and witness the worst anti-life results.

Negating White-Euro Cultural Hegemony
Heb Neteru restores our identity and independence, as such we move and define the world from our own perspective, knowledge and understanding; by doing so we put a stop to the imposition (oppression, repression, suppression) by White people to dictate, distort and destroy our lives. Heb Neteru restores our vision to see the world from African eyes and from an African heart rather than from that of White people and the 'Way of Barbarism'.

Negating the 'Way of Barbarism'
Heb Neteru restore us to the path of the 'Way of Life' and puts us in alignment and harmony with the Neteru and creation; as such we come to perpetuate life and to develop that best life for everyone and everything, unlike the 'Way of Barbarism' that is in perpetual discord and antagonism with the Neteru and Creation and that continuously creates the worst possible outcomes for people and the rest of Creation.

Living the Solution to African Integrity, Independence and Sovereignty
The 'Way of Life' is its own ongoing solution to resolving the challenges and conflicts that occur in life; by living the 'Way of Life' we live in the way of perpetual problem solving, solution oriented, life-centered life. Because the 'Way of Life' is a system for finding the best possible way to live with the Neteru and Creation it always guides us in the 'right-way'. Heb Neteru is solution-oriented by putting us on, and keeping us on the path of the 'Way of Life', and by it being the very practice of the 'Way of Life'.

Heb Neteru – The Celebration of the Neteru and Creation restores, establishes, and maintains our healthy existence with the Neteru and all of Creation.

Living Heb Neteru
TaNefer Ankh with the guidance of Seba, Heru-Ka Anu is restoring the 'Way of Life' using Kemet as the model today as so many African societies did in times before. Heb Neteru is part of the sacred-calendar that TaNefer Ankh lives by. The success of living Heb Neteru ensures our success as a community and as a people. To create our success we come together collectively to create and reestablish community - including organization and institutions - that support our goal.

Living Heb Neteru is to live and practice a specific way of being that creates the results we seek; to this end we all follow the guidance of Seba, Heru-Ka Anu and the TaNefer Ankh leadership by way of instruction and example. We are instructed to and encouraged to take classes and workshops to learn and practice Heb Neteru, and to practice living Heb Neteru.

To establish living Heb Neteru the leadership and TaNefer Ankh community host Heb Neteru: Festival-Celebration of Creation and the Cosmic order Forum, as well as the Five- Accords Workshop, among other practices and teachings. Everyone is pointed in the direction of participating to receive the best guidance and understanding.

History of the Heb Neteru

Seba, Heru-Ka Anu Heb Neteru – The Festival of Life - has origins going back millions of years to the very first time our Ancestors collectively gave thanks to the Ntru (the Creator and Life-Forces) for the gift of Life, abundance and prosperity and all blessings. Our Festival-Celebration of Heb Ankhu is taken from our Kemetic Ancestors who kept to the path of honoring their responsibility to the Ntru for the gift of Life. Heb Neteru – The Festival of Life was celebrated for thousands of years throughout the existence of Kemet, it was a very large festival-celebration with many aspects including celebrations of the the Aku (Ancestors), the Unnu (Those Present), The Peret (Progeny/Those Yet to Come), and all Life within Creation.

After thousands of years of disconnect the Festival is being recreated and performed in a modern context by Seba, Heru-Ka Anu, leader of the TaNefer Ankh Community. In its 'modern context' the ceremony is part of a larger project to repair the disconnect, to recreate and reconnect us, to the current of Africa Civilization via the path of Kemet Way - the contemporary practice of the Kemetic Way of Life - of which Seba, Heru-Ka Anu is a principle leader and architect.

Heb Neteru – The Festival of Life gives our community a formal method by which to honor and celebrate the Human Presence In Creation, and to thank the Ntru for the 'Gift of Life'. Throughout the season of Neteru we focus on the 'Gift of Life', our responsibilities related thereto, and towards forfiling the mandates to celebrate, revere and perpetuate life; to keep to, order, harmony and balance with all Life;and to seek and maintain relationships of 'optimal-Life' with everyone and everything.

Ankh Raising Ceremony Heb Neteru – The Festival of Life is a complex of ceremonies and rituals that includes among others, 'Calling the Ntcheru' to convene together on earth before the community, to hear from the community; Heb Aku (Festival of the Ancestors), the 'Ancestor Ascension Ceremony', ceremonies celebrating the Leader (Nsut Bity) and other leaders – including elders; celebrating the accomplishments of the society and community; celebrations revering the progeny – the newly conceived, newborns, the infants and toddlers, and celebrations and ceremonies calling on 'Those Yet To Come'. Heb Neteru – The Festival of Life was celebrated in all manner of expression – rituals, ceremonies, dance, art, music, work, etc; every area of human endeavor was given to making the festival-celebration an outstanding one. Consistent with the festival-celebration and its meaning we now take an entire season – season of Ankhu – to acknowledge the 'Human Presence In Creation' and to cultivate being in accord with the mandates governing our responsibilities towards optimal-life. In so doing TaNefer Ankh hosts the 'Humanity Forum', the , classes, lectures and other opportunities of dialogue and exchange for sharing and gleaning information about our existence, role and responsibilities within and to Creation.

Heb Neteru – The Festival of Life is a very beautiful and powerful festival-celebration with ceremony and rituals, and no one who walks the path of the 'Way of Life' should miss the opportunity to celebrate the 'gift of life' and to honor the 'human existence' in Creation.
